Demographics:
Given all that we do, it is important to remember who we are serving. That is what the Alliance is all about, serving members and helping to improve quality of life. The total number of members stood at 197 as of June 2005. The number of members during the period July 1999 through June 2005 has varied from a low of 187 to a high of 220. Sixty percent of AFL members are male, 40% are female.

| In terms of HIV/AIDS status, the trend continues to show that we are serving more members who are HIV+(60%) versus AIDS (40%). The percentage of MSM at 25% is the highest it has been in the past six years. The percentage of those who contracted HIV through IDU is at 22% and continues to show a clear decrease, while the percentage who contracted HIV through heterosexual contact has increased to 44%. |

The highest percentage of individuals Alliance continues to serve is the older population between 40-59. This can be attributed to the antiretroviral medications that enables individuals diagnosed with HIV/AIDS to live longer. |
