Alan Johnson

Alan E. Johnson, Senior Program Associate, brings to Alliance for Living many years of skills acquired from actively owning and running a family business. Alan also worked as a Regional Sales manager for the world’s largest sewing machine company, VSM, Inc. The many experiences and skills that have been nourished during his career will provide a strong support base for the many tasks that lie in front of him on a daily basis.

Since the 1980’s, Alan has been involved in raising awareness of HIV/AIDS charities along with many others including children’s charities, amfAR, Broadway Cares and breast cancer. Alan has volunteered for the Alliance for Living from day one, as well as for many other HIV/AIDS organizations based throughout New York, New England and as far away as Toronto, Canada and Kentucky. Alan was also involved in the Hartford Community Center, as well as the Imperial Court of Connecticut, which won a national award and recognition for its work in getting the Ryan White dental clinic started in Hartford, CT.

In his words, “I have lost many friends, I will not forget them, nor will I lose faith that a cure will be found in my lifetime; I will keep fighting the fight, so someday others won’t have to.”
