Sandra Brindamour
Executive Director

After a long career in finance, Sandy put to work her skills in analytical writing and cultivating long term relationships to a more humane endeavor. She began her career in human services in 1994 when she chaired our local United Way’s Annual Campaign. Impressed with the lofty goals many of our community’s non-profits achieved, Sandy decided to leave a 17 year career in banking to help those marginalized within our community realize their birth right of a safe and dignified quality of life.

Sandy arrived at Alliance for Living in 2004 as its first Director of Development. Over the next two years, she has been able to build a strong base of committed volunteers who understand the importance of raising funds and awareness during a time when state and federal support continues to diminish. She helped stabilize Alliance’s finances through an aggressive grant writing campaign and spearheaded the implementation of translating its brochures, newsletters and website into Spanish.

With the leaving of Mike Rosenkrantz, Alliance’s long time Executive Director, Sandy was asked to assume this position. With a degree in Business Administration from Mitchell College and Certificates in Management from UCONN and Eastern, her knowledge of the community, past non-profit experience as Director of Development at Backus Foundation, Thames River Family Program and Martin House and her years of experience in banking have all culminated in what she feels is her greatest challenge and opportunity.
