Thursday Night Art Group
If you would like to join a group that you can truly make your own, the Alliance on Thursday evenings at 5 PM is the place to be. The group is open to all members and transportation is available.

Support Group for Affected Individuals
This support group is for members and their friends and family. The group is held at the Norwich Infectious Disease Clinic at 107 Lafayette St. If interested, please contact Marlies Parent at (860) 599-1594.
Take the Stress Out of Parenting
A support group designed to help parents learn coping skills, improved communication skills with children and authoritarian figures in their children’s lives (doctors, teachers, counselors) , constructive and pro-active discipline and how to have fun and relieve stress. This program is open to mothers, fathers and extended family members who are primary care-givers.
Hispanic Support Group
A support group facilitated by a Latino and Latina who are fluent in Spanish and understand the various cultural differences between Caribbean Hispanics and Mexican Hispanics. Members will learn how to cope with a culture that is not conducive to communicating openly about sexual preferences, sexual behavior and their HIV/AIDS diagnosis. This outreach program is also
designed to help the Hispanic community they are responsible for eliminate the spread of HIV/AIDS in their Community.
United Community and Family Services (UCFS)
UCFS offers classes and support groups to help with a number of issues. UCFS has an office in New London, at 400 Bayonet St, Suite 103, phone 442-4319; and in Norwich, at 47 Town St., phone 892-7042. Contact Johnda Bouthillier for more information.
Anger Management
This group will cover topics including: an overview of treatment, anger control plans, the aggression cycle, cognitive restructuring, assertiveness training, conflict resolution, and how behaviors related to anger are learned. You must enroll to participate. Classes will meet from 5 to 6pm on Mondays in N.L. and on Tuesdays in Norwich.
Bi-Polar and Major Depression
This group aims to help participants better understand and gain control over these disorders, as well as confirm that they can lead normal lives. The group will meet for 10 weeks, on Wednesdays from 3 to 4pm in N.L.. You must register to participate. Call Carla Marcus to sign up.
A Woman's Path in the Journey to Recovery
This group gives women a chance to come together and discuss addiction, alcoholism, anxiety, anger, and depression, as well as sexual abuse and co-dependency. The group will meet Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:30am in New London.
Begin the Jouney to Recovery
This group is for anyone who needs information and guidance about alcoholism and drug addiction, especially for those who aren’t sure if they have are addicted, or who have tried to stop using in the past. The group meets Tuesdays from 6 to 7pm in Norwich.
Journey: Walking the Path
This group is to encourage sober living and to embrace folks in the recovery process. Goals are to identify triggers, understand set-up behaviors, and learn coping skills, in order to prevent relapse. This group meets Mondays from 6 to 7pm in New London, and on Thursdays from 5 to 6pm in Colchester, at Salmon River Counseling Associates, 212 Upton Road. Additional specialized groups are offered at The Women’s Center and Centro de la Communidad. Ask your case manager for information.
